East Hartford Financial Credit Union was chartered in October 1959 to serve the employees of the Town of East Hartford. It was later amended to include the East Hartford Housing Authority and East Hartford Visiting Nurse Association (VNA). In February 1996 the Credit Union welcomed the Department of Defense in East Hartford (DCMA and DCAA) into the field of membership. Over the years, addition employee groups and their families have joined. On 4/1/17 we became East Hartford Financial Credit Union, a Division of America's First Network Credit Union.
As a Credit Union, we are member-owned, not-for-profit financial organization. Our purpose is to encourage savings by offering a good rate and use the collective monies to make loans at competitively low interest rates. The Credit Union is democratically operated under State and Federal Regulations.
